Greetings from your friends at University Degrees Abroad! As always, we hope this message finds you well.
Our message today is simple--applying early (Early Admission) is one of the best decisions you can make when gearing up to transition from high school to university. Many of our most successful students have applied for early admission and are happy they did. Here’s a few reasons to consider applying to university early:
The benefits of applying early
For a student who has a definite first-choice college, applying early has many benefits besides possibly increasing the chance of getting in. Applying early lets the student:
Reduce stress by cutting the time spent waiting for a decision.
Save the time and expense of submitting multiple applications.
Gain more time, once accepted, to look for housing and otherwise prepare for college.
Receive an admission decision early in the admission cycle (usually in January or February).
Consider acceptance offer; do not have to commit upon receipt.
Apply to other colleges under regular admission plans.
Applying for early admission is most appropriate for a student who:
Has researched colleges extensively.
Is absolutely sure that the college is the first choice.
Has found a college that is a strong match academically, socially and geographically.
Meets or exceeds the admission profile for the college for SAT® scores, GPA and class rank.
Has an academic record that has been consistently solid over time.

The University of Gloucestershire is one of the only universities in the UK to offer the fast-track degree.
A fast-track degree offers you the same skills and qualifications as an undergraduate honours degree but in a shorter amount of time, for example, two years rather than three. This enables you to obtain your qualification sooner, which can save you money and allow you to enter, or re-enter, the job market sooner. On a fast-track degree, you will receive the same level of student support and be able to use all of the same facilities as students on our equivalent three or four-year degrees.
UDA Winter Recruitment Event and Golf Weekend
Lastly, don’t forget about our upcoming Winter Recruitment Event and Golf Weekend scheduled for 12/14-12/16 in Phoenix.
Director of Recruitment, Jeff Thompson has announced details of the Winter Recruitment Event to take place in Phoenix AZ the weekend of December 14-16, 2018.
Thompson states that "like our recruitment events we have run for our Soccer Academy, the UDA Winter Recruitment Event will take place over the course of Friday evening, all day on Saturday and Sunday morning."
Thompson goes on to express..."these types of events give student/athletes and their families the opportunity to meet our UDA recruitment staff as well as our UDA Academy Director. The informal setting, over the course of about 48 hours gives student/athletes the time to ask questions and build a relationship with others that are looking to take advantage of the opportunity to study, train and PLAY in the UK!"
"Our typical schedule over the three days includes an informal reception on Friday evening as athletes and their parents arrive for the weekend, then on Saturday we have a round of golf at the Westin Kierland Golf Course that includes lunch.
Saturday evening after students have dinner with the UDA Staff and Coaches, we get down to the nuts and bolts of the UDA Golf Academy and the University of Gloucestershire that includes a presentation on the social, academic and athletic advantages of pursuing an Undergraduate education in an International Environment.
Sunday morning breakfast is a Q & A session for the players and their parents after they have had time to digest the information from the previous evening."
"The best way to have all of your questions answered and meet with representatives on a one-to-one basis is through these Recruitment Events. It always amaze me as to how many student/athletes end up at our Academy after having attend the recruitment weekend! And it goes without saying that it gives us just as much of a chance to ask questions and get to know the student/athlete as well."
Registration is open for the Winter Recruitment Event in Phoenix. Space is limited so best to register early to insure your spot. Additional information, a tentative schedule and a link to Register can be found (HERE).
